3 Quotes to Live By This Month For More Motivation

Hey hey beautiful human!

The last few months of the year can make everything feel like it is moving faster.

The holidays are coming. The calendar starts filling up. There are events, family plans, travel, work, errands, and a million little things that suddenly need your attention.

And somewhere in the middle of all of that, it gets really easy to tell yourself, “I will get back to me in January.”

But I do not want you to lose the next three months just because life feels full.

In this episode of Embrace Your Real, I am sharing three quotes to carry with you this month when motivation feels low, your schedule feels busy, or one imperfect decision makes you want to throw the whole thing away. These are the reminders I want you coming back to when showing up for yourself does not feel easy, exciting, or perfectly planned.

What’s Discussed:

  • Why the last few months of the year can make consistency feel harder

  • How the version of you that you want to become is built by what you repeat

  • Why the routine you can actually come back to matters more than the one that looks impressive

  • How to stop asking whether you feel like doing it and start asking whether it matters to you

  • Why motivation is not required for something to still matter

  • How to walk into January building on something instead of starting over

The Movement With Julie app is there for the days when motivation is not. Open the app, follow the plan, and let me take the guesswork out of your workout so you can still show up, even when life feels busy and your energy is not perfect. Head to movementwithjulie.com to get started.

(0:00) Hey, hey beautiful human. Can I steal five minutes of your time? (0:04) I have something super important to share with you, but I promise I'll be really quick. (0:08) You're listening to my weekly bonus episode of Embrace Your Real with me, Julie Ledbetter.

(0:13) I'm about to give you a quick tip for building your confidence, honoring your body, and unconditionally loving your authentic self. (0:19) Stay tuned if you're ready to Embrace Your Real. Let's get it, let's go.

(0:32) Hello, and welcome back to another bonus episode on the Embrace Your Real podcast. (0:36) Okay, so we are officially in the last three months of the year, and if you're anything like me, (0:42) this is when everything really starts to speed up, like the holidays are coming, (0:46) your schedule is about to get busier, there are events and family gatherings and travel plans, (0:50) and a million things to do in your to-do list that have nothing to do with your health or your goals. (0:55) And it's so easy during this time of year to put yourself on the back burner and tell yourself, (0:59) I'll just get back to it in January, or that right now is just about surviving the next few (1:03) months and that taking care of yourself can wait until things calm down, but I do not want you to (1:09) lose the next three months just because life gets full.

I think you can show up for yourself even (1:14) during a busy season and it doesn't have to look perfect for it to count. So today I want to give (1:18) you three quotes that I personally keep coming back to because I think that they completely (1:23) change how you carry yourself through this month and the rest of the year. Before I dive in, (1:28) though I want to share this review, she said, no, seriously, thank you.

Girl, I have thanked the (1:33) good Lord above for this podcast. I am forever sharing episodes with my friends and family. (1:38) It keeps me on track, especially when I'm feeling like life is overwhelming.

It's also a nice (1:42) reminder that we are human, but we can still get back on track. Thanks for all the wisdom, (1:46) encouragement, and guidance. It's been a game changer.

Thank you. Thank you so much for (1:50) taking time out of your day to send in this review. And also thank you for sharing it with (1:54) your friends and family.

That's exactly what I hope and pray every time I turn on this microphone (1:59) to record a podcast is like, how can I encourage them, empower them, or educate them in some (2:03) way, shape, or form? So, so incredibly grateful that that's what you're getting from this podcast. (2:08) If you guys could scooch over to Apple podcast and leave a rating interview, (2:11) that would mean the absolute world to me and our team. If you're listening over on Spotify, (2:15) Hey, Hey, yo, what's up? I hope that you rate this podcast.

That's what you can do to help us (2:20) out over there. And I appreciate you so much. All right, let's just dive right in.

So quote number (2:25) one, the version of you that you want to become is built by what you repeat. I think that we put (2:31) so much pressure on ourselves to have these huge, immense, impressive days. Like if you didn't crush (2:37) a workout or eat perfectly and get everything to do on your to-do list done, then somehow your day (2:42) didn't count.

But when I look at the women that I work with who are actually seeing results, (2:47) their days look pretty normal. Like they got their workout in, they ate enough protein, (2:52) they went to bed at a reasonable time, and then they just got up and did it again the next day. (2:56) That's it.

I think that the part that trips people up is that it feels like it should be (3:00) harder than it is, right? But it really does come down to finding something that works well (3:05) enough for your life that you can actually keep doing it. Like not the most intense version, (3:11) not the version that looks best on paper, the version that you will actually repeat on (3:15) a Wednesday when you're tired and your week has been long. A 30-minute workout you do four (3:19) times a week will always do more than a 90-minute workout that you did once and never came back to.

(3:24) So heading into this season, stop worrying about whether you're doing something that looks (3:29) impressive enough, and instead ask yourself, is this something that I can repeat day in (3:34) and day out, week in and week out during this season? Quote number two, stop asking (3:39) whether you feel like doing it and just start asking whether it matters to you. (3:43) If I personally waited until I felt like working out every single day, I would barely work out. (3:49) Like that's just the truth.

There are so many days that I do not feel like it, (3:52) and there have been times where I've let that be the reason that I didn't show up. But I've (3:57) learned that feeling actually has nothing to do with whether it still matters to me. (4:03) I cannot feel like it and still know that my body and moving my body and honoring my (4:08) body with movement is important to me.

Both of those things can be true at the same time. (4:12) And so now when that voice is in my head, like, I don't want to do this today, (4:16) I don't argue with it. I just ask myself a different question.

(4:19) Does this matter to me? And the answer is always yes. (4:22) The voice is always going to show up. You're going to be tired.

Your week is going to be (4:26) packed. And it would be so easy to keep saying, I'll start again next week or next month, (4:31) but you don't have to feel motivated or excited about it to show up for it. (4:36) You just have to remember why it matters.

And this is personally a huge part of why (4:40) I built Movement with Julie the way that I did. It's not designed around days that you (4:44) are bursting with motivation. It's designed so that on the days that you are just not feeling (4:49) it at all, you can still open up the app, follow the plan, and just get something in.

(4:54) Because showing up still counts when it doesn't feel exciting. (4:57) If you want to learn more, you can go to sale.sale.movementwithjulie.com. (5:02) I will also leave the link in the show notes for you as well. (5:05) And last but not least, quote number three, (5:06) do not let one imperfect decision convince you to abandon everything that you've been working towards.

(5:13) There are going to be days that things didn't go the way that you planned. (5:17) That's just part of life. There is going to be a week where you only worked out once.

(5:21) There's going to be a meal that looks nothing like you intended. (5:24) There's going to be a morning where the alarm goes off and you just don't want to get up. (5:28) None of those moments are as big as the story that you tell yourself about them afterward.

(5:33) It's the spiral that does the real damage. (5:35) One imperfect day only becomes a problem when you let it convince you (5:40) that the whole thing is ruined and you might as well just stop. (5:43) The women who actually see results isn't the one who never messes up.

(5:47) She's the one who has an off day, she gives herself grace, and then she shows up again tomorrow. (5:53) So the next time that something doesn't go perfectly, and it won't, (5:57) I want to remind you that the very next choice that you make matters a lot more (6:02) than the one that you just made. (6:04) All right, those are your three quotes to carry you through this busy month.

(6:08) If you actually let them guide you with how you show up over the next few weeks, (6:12) I really think that you're going to be surprised with what changes. (6:15) But here's what I really want you to walk away with today. (6:19) The next three months could completely look different if you just stayed in it.

(6:24) Not perfectly, not by going all in on some plan that you can't keep up with. (6:28) Just consistently enough that when January comes around, (6:32) you are building on something instead of starting over from scratch. (6:36) You do not need to figure out the perfect routine, (6:38) you do not need to feel motivated every single day, (6:41) and you definitely do not need everything in your life to be calm and organized (6:45) in order to take care of yourself.

(6:47) You just need to keep choosing yourself even in the small ways, (6:50) even on the days that it feels really messy. (6:53) Because those are the days that actually matter the most. (6:56) If you love this episode, I know you will also love episode 619, (7:01) seven unconventional ways to stay consistent and actually see results.

(7:05) It goes deeper into the practical side of this (7:08) and really gives you the real strategies for making consistency feel doable, (7:13) even on the weeks when nothing goes to plan. (7:16) I will link that for you in the show notes below. (7:18) And if you're not already following the podcast on Apple or Spotify, (7:22) please make sure that you do that so that you never miss an episode (7:24) when we release them on Monday and Thursdays.

(7:26) All right, that is all that I have for today's bonus episode. (7:29) Go carry those three quotes with you this month and let them do the work. (7:33) I love you so much.

I mean it. And I'll talk to you in the next one. (7:44) All right, sister, that's all I got for you today.

(7:47) But I have two things that I need you to do. (7:51) First thing, if you are not already following me on the gram, (7:54) be sure to do so. Julie A. Ledbetter.

(7:56) Yes, it's with an A in the middle for that daily post-workout real talk, (8:01) healthy tips and tricks, and honest accountability to keep your mind and heart in check. (8:05) The second thing, be sure to subscribe to Apple podcast to never miss an episode. (8:11) Thank you so much for joining me.

(8:13) It means the absolute world. (8:15) And I'm going to leave you with one last thought. (8:17) The most beautiful women that I have met in my life (8:20) are the ones who are completely confident and secure in being authentically themselves.

(8:27) Remember that beauty goes so much deeper than the surface. (8:30) So go out there and embrace a real because you're worth it.
