What a Fit Day Actually Looks Like (It’s Not What You Think)

Hey there, beautiful human! Today, I want to take you behind the scenes and talk about what a “fit” day actually looks like.

Because here’s the thing… it’s so easy to scroll through Instagram, TikTok, or Pinterest and get the idea that being fit means having this flawless, aesthetic life.

The perfectly prepped meals. The two-hour morning routine. The seamless outfit. The color-coded snack containers. And while that might look cute on camera, let me be honest with you—it’s not reality.

So in today’s episode, I want to debunk that “perfect day” myth and walk you through what my real days actually look like—messy moments, flexibility, and all.

Because imperfection? That’s not a setback. That’s the strategy.

What I discuss

  1. The importance of consistency on the messy, busy, real-life days to get real results.

  2. What a true “fit” day really looks like in real life.

  3. How to ditch perfectionism and focus on fueling your body well most of the time, and trusting the process over time.

I am so excited that you are here spending some time with me today. I kind of want to take you behind the scenes and talk about what a fit day actually looks like. Because here's the thing I think it's so easy to scroll through Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and get the idea that fit means having this flawless aesthetic life, like the perfectly prepped meals, the two hour morning routine, the seamless outfit, the color-coded snack containers, all of those things, and while that might look super cute on camera very aesthetic let me be honest with you. It's just not the reality. Reality and it's definitely not required to be fit, strong, healthy or confident in your body. So in today's episode, I want to debunk the perfect day myth and kind of walk you through what my real days actually look like the messy moments, the flexibility and all of it. Because imperfection, that is not a setback, that is a strategy. We're going to be talking about how I move, how I eat, how I handle off-track moments and how I stay consistent in a way that supports my body and my life.

Before we dive in, I wanna share this review. It comes from Ava Gabrielle. She gave a five-star review and said ah, I'm loving this podcast. It makes me feel so confident with what I am and who I am outside of my body. You're such an inspiration and your faith and makes what you're saying so true. Thanks for this pod. Please don't stop. I love this so much. Thank you so much, Ava Gabrielle, for taking some time out of your day to send in this review. All right, let's dive in.

01:55

Number one you do not need perfect days to build a fit, strong body. Here's the biggest truth that I want you to hear there is no perfect, fit day. It does not exist and it does not need to. You are never going to have a day where everything lines up perfectly You're fully rested, You're highly motivated, your schedule is wide open, your meals are prepped, your workout is flawless. Life just does not work like that. Life is busy, Life is messy, Life is unpredictable. Some days you'll feel on top of the world, Other days you'll feel tired, rushed, stressed, distracted, PMSing all of these things. That is normal. And here's the key Building the body that you want does not require perfect days.

02:32

It requires getting the work done in whatever way is doable that day. The goal isn't perfection. The goal is consistency. The goal is learning how to show up even on the imperfect days, because those imperfect, messy days, that is what builds results. And when you let go of the expectation of perfection, you actually give yourself permission to actually succeed. You start focusing on doing the work in real life and not an ideal, fantasy version of life. Consistency is built on flexibility and, most importantly, it's built on realistic routines that ebb and flow with your life. Number two a fit day is flexible, it's adaptable and it's built on realistic routines that ebb and flow with your life. Number two a fit day is flexible, it's adaptable and it's real.

03:08

Let me kind of give you an example. Here is what a real fit day looks like for me. Some days I wake up energized and ready to knock out my workout first thing in the morning before Blake wakes up. Other days sometimes Blake doesn't sleep well or I don't sleep well, I'm tired. My schedule is slammed On those days. I move my workout to later in the day or even shift it to another day in the week, and that is okay. That is part of the plan. I follow personally my structured workouts inside my Moot with Julie app, but I also give myself the flexibility to adapt. Like some weeks I work out Monday through Thursday. Other weeks it's Friday through Sunday. Some weeks it's completely mixed up, depending on life. The point is that it gets done, not that it looks perfect.

03:49

Getting it done can look like doing a workout during nap time, you know, only getting a 30-minute session in, or not even a 30-minute session in, but just doing the best that I can with what I have instead of a full 60-minute session. Some days that looks like breaking my workout into two shorter sessions If you don't have a full block of time or if I have a very hectic schedule. Sometimes that's shortening my warmup or my cool down or doing that you know a different time. So like if I do my workout, then I'll do a cool down, like the next time that I'm able to have a little, you know, five or 10 minutes to kind of just fit it into a very hectic day. Sometimes that looks like modifying exercise, especially if my body's feeling fatigued or very tight, and some days that's choosing a lighter day when stress or sleep is just off, Like my body's off. I'm on my period, or I didn't sleep well, or life is just very stressful. That's okay to do that. None of that is failure. That is what a real fitness looks like in a busy life, and the exact same thing applies to nutrition.

04:44

I do not have perfectly prepped meals every single day. Trust me when I tell you I do not have that. Some weeks I have time to do some sort of meal prep, if that's just a protein batch meal prep. Other weeks I am throwing together some simple staples eating leftovers, grabbing something easy and guess what. That still supports my goals because I'm consistently fueling my body well over time, and this is exactly why I personally love macro counting.

05:10

It's not about eating perfectly or following rigid meal plans. It's about learning how to properly fuel your body with the proper amount of protein, carbs and fats. But with the flexibility built in, it allows you to hit your protein goal, even if dinner is, you know, egg bites and toast. Or adjust your carbs on a travel day, or navigate a restaurant meal with stress, or log an imperfect day and move on, because that's better than throwing in the towel, Making swaps when life happens, because it will happen. It's not if, but when. Number three it's about consistency, not perfection, because that's what creates real results. The science is clear your body responds to consistency over time.

05:50

You do not need perfect macros every single day. What matters is the trend across the week and across the month. If you're consistently eating enough protein, you're getting in balanced meals, you're fueling your body. Well, most of the time, you will be making progress. One random day of missing your target or one meal that's off. It's not going to completely undo your progress.

06:11

Inside my personal macro academy and Simple Online Academy, I teach you this. You do not need to have perfect macros. You need consistent habits that fit into your real life, and that's what creates sustainable results. So if you take nothing away from this today, I want you to remember this that building the body that you want does not have to look perfect, it just has to get done. Some days it will look polished, Other days it will look messy. You might be doing pushups next to a pile of laundry or some dead bugs to you know. Strengthen that core. While you're watching a show. You might be logging your macros while you're waiting in the carpool line. You might be hitting your workout at 8 pm, after the kids are in bed. It counts. All of it counts. Your consistency, not your perfection, is what shapes your results. There you have it. That is what a real, sustainable fit day actually looks like and spoiler it's probably not what you've been seeing online.

07:02

Let me quickly recap what I talked about in today's episode. Number one you do not need a perfect day to build a strong, fit body. Consistency on the messy, busy real-life days it's what actually creates results. Number two a true fit day is flexible and adaptable. It's about doing what you can with what you have in the season of life that you're in and remember that all of it still counts. And last but not least, number three it's not about perfection with your workouts or your meals. It's about showing up consistently, fueling your body well most of the time and trusting the process over time.

07:34
