[00:00:31] Hello and welcome back to another bonus episode. The end of the year is the time of year where most of us reflect on where we are now, where we wish we were. And oftentimes those two things don't align and we feel like we fell short. We feel like we failed. If you are someone who is doing kind of some end of the year reflection and you're upset with where you're at right now, I have a few reminders that I want to share with you, and I hope that this episode of Embrace Your Real gives you a new perspective on your journey as you enter into the New Year. But before we dive in, I wanted to share this review. It comes from Jelani. I think I pronounce that right. She gave a five star review and said empowering, inspiring and beautifully authentic. I've been following Julie for years now, and I've always admired her authenticity and real talk when she released a podcast. I immediately subscribed because I knew if her podcast would be like anything like her post, it would be fantastic. By using her years of struggle, growth and overcoming as an opportunity to help others. Julie brings so much light to the world. Her podcast will make you laugh, cry in a good way, smile and make you feel like you're talking to a friend. If you're looking for something uplifting that will help you guide you into becoming your authentic self. You found it, sister. I can't recommend it enough. I am so grateful. Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to send in this review. I love it. Beautifully authentic. That is such a beautiful word to describe it. And I'm so grateful that this podcast is helping you and I'm thankful that you are spreading it. And thank you for taking time out of your day to send in this review. It really does mean the world to me. If you guys could switch over to Apple Podcasts and make sure you subscribe, and then once you're on that page, when you type and embrace your email, you can scroll all the way down and leave a reading interview. All right. So let's dive into today's bonus episode. The most important thing that I want you to know when reflecting on this year is that success and failure are often on the same road. Failure is just an earlier exit. And just because it's the end of the year, the end of a calendar year, this doesn't mean that you need to exit the road that you're on. Like a calendar year is just that. If you haven't reached your goals yet, it doesn't mean that you failed. It just means that the road that you're on is longer than the calendar year. And the road to success contains a lot of roadblocks that you need to navigate through. You know, you might get a flat tire, you might run out of gas, you might get held up in traffic, and it's up to you if you just keep pushing through the roadblocks to get to the end of the road. Or if you dip out and take an earlier exit and the roadblocks don't mean that you're failing, the roadblocks mean that you are pursuing success because roadblocks are a part of success. The only road that leads to failure is the exit. And so remember this when you're reflecting on kind of where you want to be and where you are entering into 2024, it doesn't mean that you failed in 2023. I think the difference between those who succeed and those who don't are the ones who are patient enough to push through, even when it feels like nothing is happening, right, even when the times are super tough. So if reaching your goals feels really hard right now, I just want to encourage you to keep going. I want to encourage you to keep pushing, keep pursuing your goals, because most of us want success to be a sprint. But in actuality it's a marathon. Like slow and steady wins the race and we need to let go of this instant gratification. And just because, you know, we don't see results overnight doesn't mean we won't see the results Just because you don't have the body that you want right now doesn't mean that you won't have the body that you want in the future. I mean, let's kind of look at a timeline of seeing changes in your body when it pertains to resistance training, properly nourishing your body 2 to 4 weeks, you're likely going to feel stronger. You're going to have more energy. You might also see some minor changes in your muscle definition 6 to 8 weeks. You should start seeing noticeable changes in your muscle mass, your definition, and then 3 to 6 months, you can expect to see, you know, significant changes in your body composition, including increased muscle mass, decreased body fat if you're staying consistent with your programing. And so this means that if you give up after one month, you are missing out on the amazing results. So you could see five months from now, if you decide to keep going to be consistent and to most importantly, be patient, you can see amazing results. But just remember that you can't expect to see those results overnight. So kind of entering into this 2024, into this new calendar year, I just want you to have this patient mindset like work hard, be consistent, and then just be patient, trust the process and know that the results will come when you stay consistent. And when I say consistent, this doesn't mean that it always has to be perfect. I always say, you know, consistency beats perfection every single day. If you are, you know, consistent but not perfect, you that's going to compound the little changes that you are making on a day to day, week to week, month to month basis. Those will compound and they will lead to massive results. So I hope that this pep talk was something that you needed. Just remembering that, you know. I know. We live in this world of Amazon Prime and just everything in an instant and overnight. And that's just not the case. But if you don't give up, you will be able to see amazing results. So whatever it is, whether it's in your health and fitness journey, it's in your spiritual journey, it's in your financial journey, it's in your professional journey and your family. Like just I want you to know, to be patient and keep trusting the process and keep trusting in the timing because it's always going to be perfect. And ultimately, I believe that we grow the most on these journeys. And if you know success, what have just happened overnight, you wouldn't have built the character. There is so much character that is built on this journey and that's what will truly, you know, be able to that you'll be able to take with you long term. So if you love this episode, I know you'll also love episode 298. One reason why you didn't reach your fitness goals in 2022 that is pertaining to last year. But you can, you know, take that, take everything that I'm talking about and just swap out the year 2022 or 23. And I hope that the things that are talked about in that episode and just the real talk that I'm giving you will help you and give you just the motivation and the determination to go into 2024 with this patient mindset and working hard, being consistent, and then just ultimately trusting the process. I love you so much. I mean it and I'll talk to you in the next one for you. [00:06:54][383.3]
